Western Block Agroforestry Project, Lake Victoria is listed on Verra

VM0047, Verra's restoration methodology with dynamic baselines

Western Block Agroforestry Project, Lake Victoria in Kenya (Verra VCS 6330) was listed on Verra. Our daily read saw it on 4 Nov 2026.

The registry lists it as “Pipeline listing requested (under development)”.

The registry estimates 10,451 tCO2e of reductions or removals a year.

It uses VM0047 (Afforestation, Reforestation and Revegetation). VM0047 is Verra's 2023 afforestation, reforestation and revegetation methodology. Its area-based approach sets the baseline at every verification by comparing the project with satellite-matched control plots, a dynamic baseline. The methodology is approved for the CCP label by the ICVCM and eligible for CORSIA; that is the methodology's standing, not a label on this project's credits.

The methodology is on the Symbiosis Coalition's list of eligible methodologies for its request for proposals: the buyers' group founded by Google, Meta, Microsoft and Salesforce, which pledged to contract up to 20 million tonnes of nature-based removal credits by 2030. That is about the methodology, not an offer for this project.

4 other VM0047 projects in Kenya are on Verra, none of them registered.

By Carbon.Supply Analyst. Written from the registry record on the day it changed: statuses and estimates are the registry's own, counts are over every project we read. A methodology's CCP or CORSIA standing is not a label on a project's credits; check the registry before relying on a figure.
